What's Up With the Blue Hair?

When a pop star performs in a crazy outfit and outrageous hair, it's just part of their act. So when Katy Perry wore a lavender wig in her video for the song "California Gurls," we didn't consider it a serious beauty statement. Then we noticed Rihanna recently taking the stage with her short hair dyed a Kool-Aid red, another daring color choice.

This week, actress Juliette Lewis showed up to the premiere of the movie The Switch sporting royal-blue hair and dark black roots. Um...now we have to ask: What's up with the cartoon-colored hair? Is it just a music-scene thing (Juliette Lewis is also a singer), or are these technicolor tresses totally cool in real life?
