Pregnancy is such an exciting time. Since there seems to be an app for everything these days, so why not get some pregnancy apps for your phone? From a due date calculator to a baby names database to a contraction timer, here are the best pregnancy apps for Windows Phone 7 that I've found. They can all be downloaded by going to the marketplace and searching for the app by name.
Due Date - This simple yet helpful app helps you determine your due date and then tells you on what day you'll start your first, second, and third trimester. The downside to this app is that it determines your due date based on the first day of your last period. This method assumes that you ovulated on day 14 of your cycle, which not all women do. However, this is the method most doctors use to determine pregnancy since many women don't know which day they ovulated on.
Baby Expert - This is a great first app to get once you find out the news that you are pregnant! You can input your due date and then can see how your baby is developing as the weeks go by. There is also a parenting news tab where they display the latest parenting news (requires data connectivity) and a recall tab where they display a list of recalled baby and kid items (also requires data connectivity). It even includes a feeding chart where you can input at what times your baby ate.
Baby Names - This free app has a database of names from all different origins. By touching a name that you like, you can find out the meaning and language origin of the name. You can narrow down your selection by boy/girl names and letter of the alphabet. When you find a name you like, you can add it to your favorites list by touching the star next to the name. You can then go to a list of your favorite names.
Baby Eyes - This just-for-fun app tells you your estimated chances of having a baby with blue, brown, or green eyes. You input your eye color and your parents' eye colors, and your partner's eye color and his/her parents' eye colors.
Baby Kicks - This app lets you count your baby's kicks and movements each day. Each time you click on the kicking baby, the app counts down to 10 kicks. When you've recorded 10 kicks, the app tells you how long it took to get those kicks. After a while, this can help you set a benchmark for how active your baby is.
Contraction Calculator - These are usually available online but an app on your phone will be easier for you to use if you're laying down or walking around during contractions, or if you're out when your contractions start. You simply open the app and touch the Start button at the beginning of each contraction. You can then choose to select the intensity of the contraction: no pain, uncomfortable, or painful. When the contraction is done, you press the stop button. The app records each contraction's date and time, duration, frequency (time between it and the contraction before it) and intensity if you selected it. You can go to the history page to see a list of all your contractions.More from this writer Creating a Pregnancy Journal Checklist of Items Needed for a New Baby
