Easy to cook and good for you

Whether you're trying to get your brood or just yourself out the door in the morning, it can be hard to find time for a good breakfast. Ironically, studies continually prove that the day's "breaking of the fast" is critical for starting the day on a healthy, energetic foot. With the busy person and health in mind, we present you with five great ways to start the day, each of which requires little more than five minutes prep time.

1. Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
Yes, that's right. Chocolate and peanut butter can be a spectacular way to start the day. Just combine ½ cup milk, 1 banana, 1 teaspoon chocolate syrup and a tablespoon of peanut butter in a blender and press the start button. Viola! You've got a protein shake in two minutes-and a solid breakfast without even turning on the oven.

2. Yogurt with Granola
Whether you like plain yogurt with honey or flavored yogurt, scoop some into a bowl and top it with 1/4 cup of granola and you've got a breakfast that's a good source of protein, live cultures (they're good for digestion!), vitamins A and D, and calcium. Plus some weight-loss studies have shown that people who include yogurt in their dietary plan tend to lose more weight over time.

3. Turkey Scramble with Toast
Throw two scrambled raw eggs in a heated pan with a dab of butter and some chopped cook turkey and three minutes later you have a 200 calorie protein-rich breakfast. Add a side of toasted wheat bread and you're including good fiber, too!

4. Breakfast Sandwich
Whether you craft a breakfast sandwich from an English muffin or sliced bread, so long as you opt for wheat varieties, you can comfortably melt a bit of cheese on top of a slice, add a fried egg, and enjoy a good well-rounded breakfast.

5. Breakfast Burrito
The beauty of the breakfast burrito is that once you establish that you're starting with a tortilla, you can put pretty much anything you want inside of it-scrambled eggs, melted cheese, black beans, rice, or all of the above. Then all you have to do it roll it up and serve it!
