The Best Rainy Day Hair

By Heather Muir, Allure magazine

Rain plus humidity equals a deadly combination for your hair. If you're in New York or Florida, or any where else experiencing this lousy weather, you're probably resorting to a ponytail-which is fine-but don't think that it's your only option. According to hairstylist Adir Abergel, gross weather can be your hair's secret weapon.

Recently, Abergel was styling Jessica Biel's hair for the A-Team premiere in London. Not only was the weather supersticky, but Abergel's hair kit got stuck in transit, and never made it to his hotel (is it wrong to enjoy knowing that celebrities go through crises, too?). Here, his secrets for getting amazing hair a la Biel's, despite bad weather, and limited tools and time.

GET THE LOOK:

STEP ONE: "For the perfect foundation, air-dry your hair so you start with a little body."

STEP TWO: "If your hair is curly, choose a large barrel curling iron to help relax the curl. If your hair is wavy, use an iron the size of your own waves. And if your hair is straight, choose a medium size for the right wave for you. Grab large, random chunks of hair, then wrap them around the barrel of the curling iron, leaving out your ends for an effortless look. Alternate directions as you curl the rest of your hair."

STEP THREE: "Finger-comb your hair to break up the waves, and lock in definition with a shot of medium-hold hair spray. When you're out in the steamy, wet weather, and your hair starts to frizz, don't freak: the conditions will spark up flyaways and add extra body for that sexy, messy hair. It worked for Jessica!"
