1) Edamame Hummus with Veggies
"This is perfect to pack for on-the-go snacking or on road trips. There are several different versions you can make - I like this one from the Food Network."

2) Make Your Own Trail Mix
"If you have plans for long hikes or bike rides this summer, trail mix is the perfect nonperishable snack. Make your own by combining dried fruit, raw nuts, unsweetened coconut, and cocoa nibs."

3) Frozen Grapes
"One of the most refreshing snacks on a hot summer day! When they are frozen it takes us longer to eat them, so we feel satisfied off of a smaller serving."

4) Air-Popped Popcorn
"Sometimes you need a voluminous snack and air-pooped popcorn is one of the best. Unfortunately, most commercial popcorns are loaded with trans fat and salt, so skip the pre-made varieties and pop your own. If you don't have an air-popper, you can also pop your own kernels in a paper bag. Toss with rosemary and Parmesan or chili powder and cayenne pepper."

5) Watermelon, Feta, and Mint Salad
"Simple, but absolutely delicious. Perfect for a BBQ side dish or an afternoon snack."

6) Make Your Own Popsicles
"Skip the high-fructose corn syrup and artificial dyes and make your own popsicles. All you need is a blender and an ice pop mold, which is easy to find this time of year. The flavor combinations are endless!"

7) Grilled Pineapple with Greek Yogurt
"Take advantage of the outdoor BBQ this time of year and grill some pieces of pineapple. Chop them up and toss on top of Greek yogurt, adding a dash of cinnamon at the end. Peaches work great, too."

8) Tomato and Corn Salad
"I can't get enough of fresh corn on the cob this time of year. Shave fresh corn off the cob, then in a pan sauté in olive oil with scallions and heirloom tomatoes. Top with fresh cilantro if desired. You can make this ahead of time so it's at your fingertips when snack time arrives."

9) Kale Chips
"There are some great companies making kale chips, or you can make your own. Sprinkle kale with olive oil and sea salt and bake in the oven on a baking sheet until they are crisp."

10) Green Smoothie
"Nothing is more refreshing than a smoothie on a hot summer day. One of my favorite combos is a handful of Kale or spinach, half of a banana, 1 cup of berries, fresh mint, and some ice."
