3 Items To Avoid On the Panera Bread Menu

By Jennipher Walters

While there are a number of healthy options at Panera Bread (the broth-based soups, Breakfast Power Sandwich and the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad come to mind), there are also a number of caloric bombshells on the menu. While you already know that a bagel with cream cheese or a giant bear-claw pastry aren't the healthiest items to order, the following three items to avoid on the Panera Bread menu might just surprise you!

1. Turkey Artichoke Panini. This Panera Bread menu item sounds innocent enough, but with 740 calories, 26 grams of fat and 2,200 milligrams of sodium, it's certainly a sandwich to steer clear of!

2. Anything in a bread bowl. While Panera does have some healthy soups, if you put any of them in a bread bowl, your meal can quickly go from healthy to full-out calorie-bomb. A bread bowl itself has 590 calories. Dang!

3. Strawberry Granola Parfait. Fruit , granola, yogurt...what's not to like, right? Wrong. This small parfait has 310 calories and a whopping 28 grams of sugar. It may seem healthy, but it's no way to start the day!
