Nobody does photos like National Geographic - and the startling and spectacular images don't necessarily even come from their professional photographers. The 25th annual National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest is underway in which photographers of all levels are invited to "harness the power of photography and share [their] stunning travel experiences from around the globe." Travel, outdoor scenes, sense of place and spontaneous moments are the contest's categories, and prizes include a 10-day Galápagos National Geographic Expedition for two, a photography workshop and gift certificates to B&H Photo. Among the photos already submitted, some of the stand-outs include images of kids from all over the world simply being kids. Don't be surprised if they take your breath away. Here are 7 of the most extraordinary shots. - By Meredith Carroll
