Annie and Lillian in Bridesmaids
When Annie gives her oldest friend Lillian a box filled with childhood mementos and favorite candies for her bridal shower, only to be trumped by evil Helen, who offers Lillian a trip to Paris, we all wanted to scream and behave EXACTLY how Annie does in Bridesmaids. Because there is nothing more annoying than having someone try and compete for your best friend's love and attention. But goofy Annie and Lillian have years of history together - and a bond that can't be broken.

Do you ever have one of those weeks? Y'know, where things just don't quite work out how you'd planned? When you get the blues, who do you turn to? Maybe like me, you turn to the nearest cake aisle of your local supermarket, followed by immediate tea and sympathy with your closest friend. For me, there is nothing better than a chin wag with a buddy to get a little perspective and see some light at the end of the tunnel. In my life, dates came and went, but I always made sure I put energy into my friendships. Even through all my years as a married woman and subsequently juggling two jobs and two kids, I still make time for my mates - even if it's just a quick Skype chat. There are things I get from them that I don't from my husband: he would never appreciate a fine shoe like they would, or gossip about other folk, or recommend a great facial scrub! On a less superficial level, they help dissect problems in a deeper way, or share more emotionally at times then he does. They also bring fun and silliness and great laughs to the table. Genuinely, I think that my marriage, my job, and my work as a mom all benefit from the wisdom and joy I get from my girlfriends. With that in mind, I thought about all the great female friendships I have watched on screen. There have been so many amazing ones! Some made me envious, others inspired me, and others just gave me a good weep-fest! So check out the slideshow below of great buddies we all wish we had! - By Suzanne Cowie
