How to Break that Lip Balm Addiction

I consider myself a lip balm connoisseur. While some people cultivate a knowledge of wine, I am better equipped to discuss at length the merits and nuances of various lip balm formulas. However, let's be real: I'm not just a lip balm lover--I'm a lip balm addict. And I have been for as long as I can remember, way back to the days of roll-on fruity lip glosses.

That's why I still have trouble believing the phrase I am about to type: I may have broken my lip balm addiction. I didn't set out to do this; it happened entirely by accident. I mean, I long ago accepted the fact that I need to stash lip balms throughout my house, in every coat and bag, and in more than one spot in my vehicle. But suddenly I am not having those panicked moments of grappling for the nearest EOS sphere or Cherry ChapStick tube.

So, want to know what seems to have done the trick? A&D ointment. I pulled a Jessica Simpson--much like she uses Aquaphor from her diaper bag on her lips in a pinch, I recently resorted, on one panicked dry-lips occasion, to dabbing A&D from the diaper basket onto my lips. I was a little scared; it strikes me as more medicinal than Vaseline or Aquaphor and probably is not remotely intended for use on the mouth. But it didn't taste that bad, and it did the trick, so I've been going back for more whenever I'm in that zone of the house. And after about a week, I'm noticing I just don't need lip balm all that much--despite the deep-freeze snowy conditions outside.

CRAZY. Am I recommending you try A&D ointment on your lips? I'm not sure I want that responsibility, but I nonetheless wanted to share my revelation--and ask how many of you have actually managed to break the lip balm addiction. Tell me below!
