But Baby It's Cold Outside! I Know, But Here Are 3 Reasons Why Outdoor Exercise Is So Healthy
Of course, any form of exercise is healthy and great, but lately I've noticed a trend: fitness experts encouraging people to do their calorie-burning outside. Here are the top reasons why they may be right ...
A trainer I know begs her clients to take their fitness outside as much as possible--and she's not alone. Detox and natural health guru Natalia Rose is a big fan of outdoor exercise (in fact, she's said before that she only works out outdoors!). So what's the big deal? I think it boils down to these three factors:
1. Fresh air is so good for us. You've heard the news about the quality of indoor air, right? In short, the air in our homes is a lot dirtier than we think. So if you can't get outside for a fresh-air workout, at least open a window while you're on the treadmill.

2. Some sunlight gives us a dose of Vitamin D. And you know how good vitamin D is for you, right? It's credited with a long list of health benefits, including boosting your mood.
3. It's calming to be near nature--even if nature is Central Park! Past studies have confirmed the link between nature and happiness and well-being--so this is a two-for-one deal: you get physical exercise and mental exercise!
Do you work out outside? How often?
P.S. Here's an idea: Take your Body by Glamour workouts ... outside!
