Can people be bribed into rehab?

Addiction specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky publicly spoke out about Lindsay Lohan's apparent substance abuse problems, the pop star fired back saying she thought doctors were supposed to talk to patients about their issues behind closed doors. What's that? A personal invite? That's right, Dr. Drew and the producers of VH1's "Celebrity Rehab" have reached out to Linds and offered her six figures to appear on the program.

"I'm really convinced that something horrible is going to have to happen to her before she really gets over it and embraces sobriety," says Pinsky. "She needs to give it up. And it's going to be a while before she does. I have this image that she's going to lose a limb or something before she does."

We're grateful that Dr. Drew has extended a hand--perhaps the promise of big bucks and a reality TV appearance will finally entice Lohan to kick her bad habits. Lately her publicist has been denying any drug or alcohol use, and implying her shrinking size and random illnesses are the result of stress and exhaustion. It's possible, but we really believe Drew in that there's more going on here. She's been in rehab several times before, but maybe cleaning up publicly would inspire her to really get well and get her career back on track. Lindsay, we know you have it in you!

Thanks, Dr. Drew! We hope the deal works out. Maybe you should hit up Amy Winehouse, Courtney Love and Pete Doherty next.
