It is a hot summer day and you would love to wear that miniskirt you just bought a few days back. But you are all out of shaving cream and don't have the time to go to a drug store to grab some. Or maybe you are tired of applying chemicals to your skin and are looking for a natural alternative. Well it is time to try out a few natural substitutes for shaving cream and get that smooth shave you've always desired.
Soap

One of the best alternatives to shaving cream is glycerine soap. Not only is it organic but a bar of soap also lasts longer then a can of foam. It allows the razor to glide well over the skin as well as helps keep them clean and better for longer. It is also biodegradable so you don't waste resources. You will always have soap around the house so never again will you have to fret about getting shaving cream before you shave.

Hair Conditioner

Hair conditioner helps in keeping hair soft. An organic or herbal conditioner is great for shaving and leaves your skin soft and smooth.

Shampoo

Herbal shampoos not only clean your skin but also helps get rid of pollutants. They lather up well and allow for a closer shave.

Organic Baby Oil

Baby oil acts as a lubricant and a shield on your skin. The face is protected from nicks and cuts even though the oil makes it harder to shave. It may take you longer to get rid of unwanted hair but it'll be blood free and your skin will be smooth.

Hand and Body Lotion

Natural lotions can also be used in shaving. They help soften the hair and leave the skin smooth after shaving.

Sweet Almond Oil/ Olive Oil

Almond oil and olive oil have been used in massages for centuries and are known to have emollient properties. These oils can be used as an alternative to shaving cream at a fraction of the cost.

Apricot Oil

Apricot oil can be used instead of almond oil if you are in search of a cheaper option. It can be used as it is or mix in a few drops of jojoba and lavender oil to get a great scent. It helps combat irritation as well as leaves the skin smooth.

Aloe

If you have a plant of aloe vera simply take out its juice, spread it on your skin and shave away!

Peanut Butter

Next time instead of using peanut butter to make a PB and J sandwich, mix in a little water with the peanut butter and use it to shave. You may not be able to get rid of the smell that easily but you will be able to remove all those unwanted hair.

Make Your Own Shaving Oil!

There are many shaving oil recipes available online that are 100 percent natural and cost less to make than buying store brands.

Next time you want to shave and are out of commercial products use any of the above alternatives and bare those legs in the summer!
