Singer Ellie Goulding has taken the US by storm -- and not just with her lyrical stylings. The British pop star -- who is currently on tour with hottie Bruno Mars and has a forthcoming release, Halycon Days, dropping August 27 -- recently raced the Nike Women's Half Marathon in Washington, D.C. and shared her training program (plus a few extra secrets!) with SELF. But Ellie's got a few more valuable tips in her pocket for all of you runners -- beginner or advanced. Check out five more running facts you may not know about Ellie -- not yet, at least.

* She's been running since she was 18, and has been "obsessed" ever since. Goulding runs every single day -- even if it's just a small one.

* She's motivated by clever music. And that doesn't just mean one genre -- she likes everything from classical to the heaviest dub step.

* She likes things loose. In terms of her clothing, that is: Goulding doesn't like wearing really tight stuff. She wants to look good -- not be uncomfortable. Oh, and the gear should absorb sweat, too.

* She's always on the up and up. Goulding likes to train outdoors, and almost always runs on an incline. When she tackles hills, she thinks of the people she loves to get her through the toughest parts.

* She knows the power of persuasion. "I love to get people into it," Goulding says, including some of her bandmates, and most recently, her very own assistant.
