Hunger Games fans, you may have devoured one too many tubs of popcorn at the film's opening weekend. But don't throw your bow and arrows in just yet! There's a way to get the odds back in your favor: New York Sports Club trainer Eric Salvador has devised a Hunger Games workout that will whip you into shape before you head back into the arena. Get ready, because you're about to "Train Like a Tribute!"

Nicole Lyn Pesce of the New York Daily News was one of the first tributes to try out the routine. She explained that each participant must "claim a spot in the studio to be our home base, or pedestal. We are shown the four exercises we'll have to do at our stations (from jumping jacks to modified crunches) before sprinting around the room. Finishing all five tasks counts as completing a circuit. The tribute who does the most circuits in the class' allotted time wins and is given a Mockingjay pin like the one Katniss wears."

But don't be fooled into thinking it'll be a typical fitness class: Just like any good Gamemaker, Salvador isn't afraid to throw in an extra challenge or two. Fans, you can probably guess what's in store. Everyone else? Let's just say that you're in for a fiery surprise.

Along the way, you'll also master essential survival skills-because while we're pretty sure the Hunger Games will stay in the realm of fiction (at least for now), it can't hurt to know how to fire an arrow, climb a tree, work under pressure, and amp up your muscles!

Sure, it sounds tough, but how can you not be excited to kick off your pumps and compete with fellow Katniss Everdeen fanatics? You simply can't get the same adrenaline rush from orderingHunger Games tote bags, notepads, and pieces of toast featuring Peeta's face (but let's not get into that one).

Alas, you'll have to be based in New York to take this Hunger Games challenge; but for those of you who do live in the area, you're in luck! Salvador's "Train Like a Tribute" classes will be held at the New York Sports Club on 86th Street and Lexington Avenue. They'll run every Tuesday at noon from March 27 (that's tomorrow!) to April 24, 2012, and are completely free for members and non-members alike. If you need more information, check out My Sports Clubs online.

But don't worry, Non-New Yorkers; we have a feeling that Hunger Games themed classes will be coming to a District near you very soon. You'd better watch your backs, though, because the Big Apple Bettys are already stowing practice sneakers under our desks.

Happy Hunger Games!
