Ditch the soft drinks. Sure, it may be tempting to add a splash of cola or lemon-lime soda to sweeten your mixed drink, but there are just as easy lower calorie options to be had. "Use calorie free sparkling water, club soda or flavored seltzer instead," Avanti says.

Fresh herbs add flavor. Whether you prefer cool mint or savory thyme, adding herbs not only boosts the flavor of the drink, but also provides antioxidants and a beautiful presentation.

Try coconut milk. Creamy cocktails are usually chock full of fat, but by simply swapping heavy cream for this tropical alternative, you can easily cut down on calories. Plus, coconut milk also helps boost metabolism.

Say goodbye to spirits. We know-it sounds crazy! But using a lower calorie alcoholic option, like Skinny Vine wines, to make your favorite summer cocktails can save you as many as 200 calories per serving. Not to mention, it's still totally refreshing!
