GMO Food Toxins Found in Umbilical Cord Blood

The genetically engineered bacterial toxin from Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), was found in 93% of blood samples from pregnant women and 80% from umbilical cords, according to a new study at the University of Sherbrooke Hospital Centre in Quebec.

" The research suggested the chemicals were entering the body through eating meat, milk and eggs from farm livestock which have been fed GM corn. The findings appear to contradict the GM industry's long-standing claim that any potentially harmful chemicals added to crops would pass safely through the body. To date, most of the global research which has been used to demonstrate the safety of GM crops has been funded by the industry itself."

Plants are genetically engineered to produce Bt toxins, which prevents pests from eating and/or damaging them, resulting in the use of less pesticides. The toxin is a crystalline protein that has an insecticidal action. The first Bt producing plants approved by the EPA were potatoes in 1995. Maize, cotton, and corn followed soon after.

The research is basically showing that these toxins survive the digestive tracts of the animals that eat GMO feed, end up in their bloodstream and tissues, survive through the slaughter, processing, and cooking of the meat, survive through the human digestive tract, go in the human bloodstream and tissues, and then cross over the placenta to end up in the blood of a fetus.

That is incredibly scary! As far as I know, the only other "crystallized proteins" than manage to do that are the prions from mad cow disease that cause Creutzfeldt-Jakob in humans, which has no cure.

We do not know what kind of damage these Bt toxins can do to humans and unborn babies, but I can guarantee they are not a good thing.
