Happiness is a Choice


I try to remain extremely happy and content and ultimately believe in turning sadness into happiness. Disappointment and negativity are present in every beings existence, it is how one chooses to deal with their experience and feelings that counts. Those who hide behind a mask of bliss are fake. What is your ultimate choice - happiness, middle-of-the-road, or sadness? Happiness is the route one should take and do so with full force and effort.

It is a waste of time and energy to be miserable, unhappy, and negative. It is natural to feel these emotions, and one should allow them self to feel them, but not for an extended period of time. Do not dwell upon negative feelings and emotions, they will last as long as you allow them to. Everyone has the ability to turn a difficult situation or sadness into a positive lesson. Some ways a person can change their sadness or doubt into happiness are:

Relax: Try your best not to overreact to the situation or stressor that may have caused you to be disappointed or angry. Take a walk, count to ten, breathe deeply and or politely leave the area in order to truly think about what took place and why you felt the way you did. Reflect and plan so that you are not faced with the same issue over and over.

Motivate: Rid yourself of all negativity. Surround yourself with positive interactions and people. You should steer clear of people who complain and are jealous of others. True friends will not bring you down, they will lift you up, support you, and help you believe in yourself and your abilities. They will help you believe anything is possible, if you set your mind to it and take action. I often seek motivational quotes that apply to my life. Inspire others often with the positive lessons that you learn.

Make a Choice: Life is about choices. At times, emotions get the best of us. However, remember your mind controls your emotions. When something happens, initially you may feel upset. Do not remain in this mindset. You can choose to make a change in your behavior. Try smiling, looking your best, or doing something nice for yourself no matter how your feeling inside. Looking and feeling good about yourself brings about a positive appearance and feeling within. A healthy and happy attitude is extremely contagious.

Exercise: Exercise often, participate often in a daily exercise routine. Physical fitness has a wealth of benefits. It helps with physical and mental health. It makes a person feel strong and fit, ready to take on the world. It's amazing what a daily exercise routine can do.

Always remember that happiness is a choice and the route you should look to achieve.
