Ice Cream for Weight Loss: 5 Guilt-Free Ways to Get Your Ice Cream Fix!

While we love some of the light and low-fat ice cream on shelves, we're all about finding new products to add to our dessert rotation. Think outside the ice cream carton with these five fun picks, courtesy of Hungry Girl...

Arctic Zero All Natural Frozen Desserts

1/2 cup: 37 calories, 0g fat, 80mg sodium, 6g carbs, 2g fiber, 5g sugars, 3.4g protein

Need ice cream but don't want to stick to a single (small) serving? This ice-cream-like frozen dessert is for YOU. An entire PINT has only 150 calories! It's not as creamy as ice cream, but it's full of protein and free of fat, and it makes an awesome base for smoothies and shakes. The Chocolate Peanut Butter variety is our favorite!

Lifeway Tart and Tangy Frozen Kefir

1/2 cup: 90 calories, 1g fat, 55 - 75mg sodium, 18g carbs, 0g fiber, 16g sugars, 4g protein

Don't know what kefir is? You're not alone. The probiotic is similar to yogurt, and it can be used to make delicious smoothie-like drinks. It tastes best when it's frozen, like THIS product! The creamy treat comes in seven flavors -- from Dulce de Leche to Pumpkin -- each with just 90 calories a serving. A total bargain!

Stonyfield Oikos Organic Nonfat Greek Frozen Yogurt

1/2 cup: 100 - 110 calories, 0g fat, 55 - 65mg sodium, 19 - 22g carbs, 0 - 1g fiber, 16 - 20g sugars, 6g protein

With so much buzz over Greek yogurt in recent years, it was about time the creamy protein-packed snack made its way to the freezer aisle. All of the flavors are delicious, but Vanilla and Chocolate are especially great -- not overly sweet. And unlike some fat-free ice cream, there's nothing fake-tasting about this organic treat! (In case you're wondering, this stuff is SWEET, not TART!)

Yonanas

This contraption (yonanas.com) has been getting rave reviews, and we think it's pretty cool! Just peel and freeze overripe bananas, and then use the Yonanas machine to turn them into a soft-serve-like treat. It also works with other frozen fruit, nuts... even chocolate! Just be careful not to shove, like, five whole fruits in there and think it's a one-serving treat...

Freezy-Cool Whoopie Pie

Craving an ice cream sandwich but don't want all the fat and calories that come along with it? Start with a thawed or slightly frozen chocolate-flavored Vitalicious VitaTop. VitaTops are 100-calorie, high-fiber muffin tops that can be found in the freezer aisle of many stores, and they're available online at vitalicious.com. (Totally worth ordering!) Carefully slice the VitaTop in half lengthwise (like you would slice a bagel). Top one Vita "slice" with a 2-tbsp. serving of thawed Cool Whip Free (just 15 calories), and then top with the other Vita slice to form a sandwich. Place it on a plate and freeze until solid, about 1 hour. That's it! The entire frozen treat has about 115 calories and 1.5g fat.
