On Sunday morning, Melinda Walker woke up to find three young men in her home. They wore sweatshirts with the hoods drawn tightly around their faces, claimed they were carrying a gun, and demanded money and her television, according to a story published this week on Wane.com.

Walker’s front door was unlocked because she had been expecting her son home, so the men had simply entered her home and walked right past her husband.

According to the police report, which was read to Yahoo! Shine over the telephone, the men told Walker that her son owed them money. "I looked them up and down. I didn't see a gun. The whole time one of the kids kept saying, 'She doesn't think we have a gun.  She doesn't think we have a gun. Take it out and clean it on her,’” Walker told Wane.com.

Worried about her 5-year-old grandson in the next room, Walker grabbed the nearest weapon—a controller from the popular video game Guitar Hero video game. Yelling, “Get of out my house!” at the men, she struck one with the toy, and pushed another down a flight of stairs. The fallen man landed halfway down and tried to scramble back up, but the father of Walker’s children kicked his partner and caused both to tumble down the stairs. All three then ran out the front door and drove off in a gray-colored sedan.

Walker's home had been broken into twice before, and she suspects that the criminals were people familiar with the layout of her home. The police report stated that the men are between 15 and 21 years old.

"I may not be a strong woman. I may not be a well woman, but you're not going to get my stuff," said Walker.
