Jamie Eason Interview: Get Fit with Her New 12-week LiveFit Program

You've seen a few posts here about fitness model, Jamie Eason over the years. We met at the Arnold Sports Festival in 2008 and have stayed in touch since. I give her a lot of credit for opening my eyes about all the preservatives and junk in food. Now, Jamie has an awesome free 12 week fitness program through BodyBuilding.com - LiveFit Trainer.

"This is an approach that I have personally followed for years and have had great success with when helping others, my family included," Jamie tells FFTV.

Jamie's so personable, it makes the program enjoyable. And it's filled with tons of detailed information and motivation to help you stick to it. My favorite part is the recipe videos - yum!

Here's more about the program from Jamie herself…

FatFighterTV: How much will LiveFit transform people?

Jamie Eason: My LiveFit 12 week training program is just that…a program to teach you to "live" fit, not a weight loss program, though the end result is often a decrease in overall body fat. I've found through the years that there are plenty of people willing to put in the work, but few people truly getting the results they had hoped for. I could see a trend of all or nothing with people all around me. They would dive into a diet and training program only to end up defeated and frustrated by the lack of results.

With the LiveFit program, I have outlined a realistic nutrition program, complete with suggested recipes and an abundance of options to hopefully prevent boredom and to empower people to be able to devise their own eating plan. With the training, I created three phases, all with a specific purpose in mind.

The first phase focuses on just weight training to encourage muscle growth, which is often hard for people to achieve because they tend to jump into both cardio and weight training all at once. This typically results in nothing more than cardio siphoning off the calories needed to really shape and tone the body. I always try and remind people, you can't shape what you don't have. Excessive cardio will help you lose weight but it will not lift and tone the body. In phase 2, I introduce some cardio to start the fat burning process, and by phase 3, we have likely built all of the muscle that we are capable of in that time frame, so the intensity kicks up and the leaning out process begins. The training shifts from building and shaping to stripping down body fat to uncover the hard earned muscle and definition.

FFTV: Will participants all look as good as you after they complete the 12-week program?

JE: Will participants look like me? That's hard to say. This is a program of guidelines that have proven to show great results time and again, but the intensity and consistency are all your own. Approach it half-heartedly and your results may be less than impressive. Tackle it with enthusiasm and a solid commitment and you could surpass me with your physique goals.

FFTV: How important is the supplementation part of the program? Do participants have to buy the products for the program to be effective?

JE: Supplements are great for filling in any gaps in nutrition, for convenience (think protein powder), and for maximizing your results. It is not necessary to buy the exact stack that we have outlined on Bodybuilding.com but it is there for convenience. We attempted to put together some of the best possible options, that I myself would take, to try and take the guess work out of what could benefit someone's fitness goals throughout this process. There are plenty of other great options on the site to mention, but I tried to whittle it down to what I consider to be the most essential.

FFTV: What's the most important thing you want people to get out of the LiveFit program?

JE: My hope is that the LiveFit trainer will provide a common sense approach to shaping and toning the body in a way that is both manageable and enjoyable. At any time in a person's life, I hope that they will be able to look in the mirror, judge for themselves where they might be in the way of their fitness goals, like building muscle, maintaining, or leaning out, and be able to jump into one of the outlined phases, confident that if they stick with the program, they will get the results they are after.
