Kim Kardashian: Earth Mother

Kim Kardashian is a changed woman. At least that's what she seems to be saying with her first pregnancy photo shoot. She made her pregnant fashion debut this week in a Bruce Weber photo series shot for the latest issue of DuJour magazine.

Gone are the designer logos, the diamond arm candy, the 6-inch knee high boots. Instead she shows off her baby bump with minimal makeup, fuller eyebrows, and nothing but a white bikini and a sheet.

In the accompanying interview, a seemingly new Kardashian emerged; less PR machine, more crunchy earth mama with talk of learning to maintain her privacy and even ending "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" after its 9th season. Is this the reinvention of Kim Kardashian, the brand, or a pregnant pause in the life of the flashiest reality star on earth?

Maybe a little of both. Here are some quotes from the newfound earth mother. Bare in mind, she's still a Kardashian, so "earthiness" is all relative.

On her pregnancy: "I just feel so blessed and excited and ready for the next phase."

On her new approach to privacy: “I’m realizing everyone doesn’t need to know everything. I’m shifting my priorities.” She’s even become more selective when fans ask for her photograph especially when she’s with boyfriend Kanye West. “I just tell them, sorry, but my boyfriend won’t let me." To that end, the new season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians won't include any explicit "baby stuff" such as doctor appointments, pre-baby shopping or giving birth (unlike Snooki's on-air delivery).

On not drinking Diet Coke around the clock:  “I used to always say I can’t wait to get pregnant because I will just eat whatever I want, but it’s completely different. I’m like, OK, I want to eat as healthy as possible.

On her new interest in motherhood on TV: 'Lately I’ve been watching shows like 'I’m Pregnant And Addicted To Meth.' It definitely makes me feel better if I’m wanting one sip of Diet Coke or, you know, too much sugar."

Okay, so maybe this "earth mother" thing is still a work in progress.
