Miley Cyrus got naked.
The 20-year-old, who earlier this year treated us to half-butt, under-butt, and underboob, left (almost) nothing to the imagination by stripping down for Marc Jacobs and business partner Robert Duffy's "Protect The Skin You're In" T-shirt ($35), as part of a campaign to raise money and awareness for the New York University Skin Cancer Institute.
She tweeted on Friday: "Who's gettin my #protecttheskinyourein Tee from@MarcJaconsIntl ❤❤❤" and "Don't worry Europe! My #protecttheskinyourein T's are coming next month @MarcJacobsIntl so happy to help YOU help SO MANY ❤❤❤"
Duffy told Women's Wear Daily that Cyrus "has been a friend of mine for a while and I think she’s beautiful. She is a lot of fun to be with. She is talented in many mediums from music to film…She really has a very good, solid head on her shoulders. I adore her." Cyrus follows in the footsteps of Kate Upton, Heidi Klum, Eva Mendes, Naomi Campbell, Victoria Beckham, and Hilary Swank, all of whom have all posed nude for the campaign.
While nude celebrities are nothing new, the reasons they disrobe vary. A heavily pregnant Demi Moore carried the torch for the MILF movement when she posed nude for the August 1991 issue of Vanity Fair, paving the way for Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and Jessica Simpson. Jennifer Aniston knew people would be thirstier for electrolytes and distilled water if she went topless for Smart Water, Katie Holmes distracted us from her highly publicized divorce from Tom Cruise with her topless ads for jeweler H. Stern, and Kate Moss expressed her disdain for tan lines when she lounged poolside wearing nothing but faux glow for St. Tropez suntan lotion. Kim Kardashian reminded us she had a sex tape when she got naked for Harper's Bazaar and her sister Khloe posed nude for PETA, amid claims that she sold fur clothing in her family store Dash. And while she wasn't exactly naked, pregnant model Jaime King, 34, posted a shot of herself wearing a bikini on Instagram this week, for no reason at all. "Backyard summer with baby and father," she wrote in the photo caption.
As for Cyrus, she recently told Harper's Bazaar that wearing Marc Jacobs is "just kind of like a second skin." And apparently, that's true!
