Parkinson's Comedy

I have never been the kind of person to complain when I'm in pain - usually I just find something funny about the situation then I forget about the pain or ignore it. Recently, I have been finding more and more funny things about my Cervial Dystonia (it leaves me MUTE and unable to talk.) The other day I felt productive so I decided I would flip the mattress, wash the bedding and close the heating vent in my room. Mom likes the house a nice toasty 75 or 80 and I can't stand it over 65. So, I get the sheets and mattress pad in the washer; I have to set a timer or I will forget them and they will sit in there all day. Then, I'm going to tackle the mattress (I have to tell you this is a Queen size mattress and I am 5"3'.) I grab the mattress it has handles - I have to stop right here and tell you mom isn't home she went out to pay bills, but I have a 65 lb service animal who is more intelligent then most men. I stand the mattress up and slide it over to lean against the dresser - the dog is mad because I won't let her in the room. Now the box spring, by far the more difficult part of this process as it has no handles and is rigid, but to get to the vent I have to move it too. Instead of moving the box spring I figure all I have to do is stand it up on the frame of the bed, right. I have the box spring up and I notice all the dog hair under the bed-oh great so now I go get the vacuum. The poor dog is gated out side of the room watching as I hold the box spring with one hand and try to vacuum up the dog hair with the hose attachment. She starts to whine, a sure sign she has to go out, just as the timer goes off telling me the washer is off and the mattress pad and sheets need to go into the dryer. At this point the mattress is blocking part of the door, the box spring is balanced on the frame if it falls it will take out the vacuum or one of the bedroom windows, so I move it slightly. I don't notice the power plug to the telephone. This is a disaster waiting to happen, if the phone gets disconnected the computer doesn't work - I can't communcate without the computer. I closed the vent cutting off the heat-it was 71 outside and we are the only house on the block with the heat on. Dog out and in, laundry in dryer, vacuuming done. I go to lower the box spring back into place and it won't fit in the frame. Mom comes home and wants to know what the heck I'm doing. I tell her to go get the hammer so I can widen the frame to get the box spring back down. She comes back with this tiny little hammer - the kind that come in one of those little plastic tool kits with the snap on handles. Now I'm laughing, holding the box spring, balanced on the bed frame, when I realize it won't fit because I slid it sideways. I re-adjust the position of the box spring and it slides right in no problem-then I look over and notice the light on power to the phone is out. Shoot. I stand on the box spring and reach over and sure enough the frame knocked the plug out. Fixed that problem. Now all I have to do is get the mattress back on the bed, put the clean pad and clean sheets on and I am done. I got the mattress back on the bed and I was trying to put the pad on - to do this I have to lay across the bed to get to the corner closest to the windows. I fell asleep didn't wake up until mom yelled the dryer was off - the dog had moved the gate and was sleeping on the floor next to the bed. I guess she figured if I could sleep she could too. Jugs
