If you love sleep as much as we do, you don't need a reason to set your alarm just a bit later. But, just in case, here's one: Getting a poor night's sleep-yes, one night-can majorly eff with your relationship.

Studying 78 couples over two weeks, researchers asked participants to keep notes about their sleep quality and how much they fought with their significant others. Across the board, even just one bad night of insomnia or simply not getting those recommended eight hours increased relationship conflict the next day. (Explains a lot, doesn't it?)

According to the findings, a night of tossing and turning made people less empathetic, more negative, more selfish, and less able to diffuse conflict. While we're big advocates of using your bed for activities other than sleep, this all sounds pretty terrible to us.

So, if you're feeling tired and on-edge, put your jammies on a bit earlier tonight and get thee some shuteye. Not only will your body thank you, but your man will be grateful, too. (And if your guy's been all pissy this week, tuck him into bed early so you can watch your cheesy reality TV without having to hear him complain about it.)
