Dorthy Landry was already 96 when her favorite musician, Ryan Wang, was born. Wang, a piano prodigy at just 5-years-old, gained international attention after an appearance on 'The Ellen Degeneres Show'. He's since performed at Carnegie Hall, but his most appreciated concert to date was for an audience of one. Landry, now 101, has followed Wang's career since he was three and is one of the tiny talent's biggest fans. The Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) arranged for the two unlikely friends to meet. Wang played Variations of an Inner Mongolian Folk Song, and Landry listened. What followed was an amazing exchange between two generations who share more in common than it would seem. The video of their meeting was posted to YouTube on June 26, and has since reached over 64,000 viewers.
For Wang, who brought his teddy bear to his performance, the connection is simple. "I like playing for 'Grandma' Dorothy," he said. "I think it makes her happy."
