8 Signs Your Ex Isn't Over You (Hear That, Justin Bieber and Orlando Bloom?)

In theory, a breakup means once a relationship is over, it's over — right? Not so much for these famous former couples, who can't seem to move on, as evidenced by their post-breakup behavior. From sharing online photos of a former flame to blasting him or her in public, here are eight ways Hollywood exes have shown they're still heartbroken.

He posts your photos on social media: On Monday, Justin Bieber Instagrammed a photo of ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez at the Vanity Fair Oscar party (above). "Most elegant princess in the world," Bieber captioned the photo, tweeting it out to his nearly 15 million followers. Doing it once would be creepy enough, but Bieber actually has a history of trolling Gomez online. In January, amid rumors that the pair were reconciling, he posted an old photo of the pair snuggling with the caption, "Love the way you look at me."

He orchestrates a “accidental” run-in: Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom (who announced last fall that they were separating after more than three years of marriage) both hit the town on Oscar night, but should have been able to avoid crossing paths. However, during a Vanity Fair afterparty, while Kerr was giving an on-camera interview, Bloom snuck up behind the supermodel. "You look amazing. Are you well?" he asked before kissing her on the cheek. Although visibly rattled, Kerr quickly answered, “Yeah, yeah,” then resumed her interview. Intentionally colliding with an ex on the red carpet is the famous person’s equivalent of riding your bike past her house. It’s not cool in real life — or in Hollywood.

He broadcasts your breakup: Robin Thicke’s public displays of affection with women other than his wife (grabbing a 20-year-old fan's butt at a VMA after party, kissing a mystery woman at a Paris nightclub) were  inappropriate. But when Thicke and wife of nine years Paula Patton announced their separation in February, he continued to air their relationship dirty laundry. “For y’all that don’t know, my wife and I got separated a few days ago," he told the audience during a recent concert, "but I’m trying to get my girl back. She’s a good woman.” Be sure to let us know if you ever do, mmkay?

He tries to get the last word: We didn't really expect John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston to last, given they spent most of 2008 and 2009 in an on-again-off-again relationship. But we were surprised when, after their last split, Mayer organized an impromptu press conference on a New York City street to address the matter. “I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right,” Mayer told reporters. “It’s not about years, it’s about going out with somebody, being truthful on the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out.” Ohhh … you broke up with her. Got it.

You get closure by recreating the breakup in artistic form: Justin Timberlake's 2002 music video for “Cry Me a River” allegedly depicting his breakup with then-girlfriend Britney Spears, was a hit, but also a cry for help. Rumors of Spears’s infidelity were swirling, but Timberlake basically confirmed them by hiring a Brit lookalike and portraying the breakup (as he saw it, anyway) in his video. Save it for therapy, JT!

The relationship is more in his head: Michael Jackson and Brooke Shields hit the Grammys together in 1993, causing confusion about whether the two were dating. Shields kept hinting that they were just friends, while he claimed they dated. Either way, during a 2009 Rolling Stone interview, Shields clarified, “There were times when he would ask me to marry him, and I would say, ‘You have me for the rest of your life, you don’t need to marry me, I’m going to go on and do my own life and have my own marriage and my own kids, and you’ll always have me.’” Any questions?

He dates your carbon copy: Reggie Bush may be a running back for the Detroit Lions football team, but we know him best as Kim Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend. Although the pair broke up in 2010 after a three-year relationship, Bush showed he couldn't quite move on by dating Kardashian's spitting image — a voluptuous, dark-haired Gap model, who resembled the reality star so much, that Kardashian sued the Gap for hiring someone to impersonate her. Although Bush and his girlfriend later broke up, he went on to marry an Armenian, curvy, dark-haired woman. Oh, OK. Total coincidence.

He trash-talks your relationship: Although badmouthing an ex is often perceived as a sign he or she can't stand the person anymore, sometimes it means just the opposite. Take Russell Brand, who, in July — an entire year and a half after he and Katy Perry filed for divorce — took a cheap shot at his ex in his standup routine, joking that, during his short-lived marriage he would fantasize about other women. "I'd be having sex thinking, 'think of anyone, anyone else,'" he told the crowd. Perry probably didn't lose too much sleep over the jab — she was busy dating John Mayer at the time.
