New research shows that those who work out regularly have higher salaries.

After studying the effects of exercise on more than 2,500 pairs of twins, Finnish researchers found that the individuals who worked out regularly earned more money than their sedentary sibs. One possible reason for this: "Physically active people may also be more persistent; they persevere in the face of work-related tasks and hurdles," says study coauthor Ari Hyytinen, Ph.D. It can "increase their desire to partake in competitive situations," according to the study.
