'Tis the season of weddings, pool parties and enough social gatherings to motivate one to look great, not to mention fit into that perfect sundress or bikini. But with so many events, we know you want to look good - fast. Justin Gelband, the high-profile personal trainer and former competitive swimmer responsible for the covetable bodies of top models Miranda Kerr, Irina Shayk, and more, is the so-called model whisperer who knows how to get his clients in shape fast. Here are some of his secrets to looking runway-ready in time for your next big event. Read the full interview with Justin at BAZAAR.com.

BAZAAR: We know there are no "quick fixes" in fitness, but what are your tricks to getting someone to look/feel their best in a short amount of time, say two weeks?

Justin Gelband: Food is absolutely number one. When I sit down with anyone to discuss their workout regimen, the first thing I say to them is, 'The one thing I really want you to concentrate on now is limiting the amount of things you are putting into your body that you do not need. No sugar (except for berries), no salt, no alcohol, limit your carbs.' I work closely with Dr. D'Adamo's blood type diet.

B: What carbs are allowed?

JG: Carbohydrates that you get from vegetables, plus brown rice, Ezekiel breads, but limit them to only twice a week - especially if you are in crunch time! Never cut carbs completely, it's unsustainable and your energy levels will lack.

B: Speaking of energy, any super foods you recommend to keep you going during this restrictive time?

JG: Raw nuts and avocados are great, but because they are high in fat (albeit the good kind) don't go overboard.

B: So what about fitness, is there a specific exercise program you recommend to shape up fast?

JG: Cut out the hour plus cardio sessions and focus on 30 minutes of intervals every day. For example, if you are working out on a treadmill, where jogging is at 6.0 and running is 7.5, do a minute at 6.0, a minute at 6.1, a minute at 6.2, up till 7.5 then reverse back down. Whatever you do, do not sprint.

B: Why avoid sprints? Don't they torch mega calories?

JG: Sprints are going to build muscle in a way you might not like aesthetically (i.e. bulky) and you can easily injure yourself. In order for you to lean out quickly, you want to get your sweat on and your metabolism in high gear. With sprinting, all you're doing is anaerobic work, which is getting your body to reach its peak performance, but eventually you're going to burn out.

B: Along with the daily cardio plan, what sort of conditioning do you recommend?

JG: If you don't have access to my Model Fit sessions, take a pilates, yoga or kickboxing class several times a week. I incorporate all three of these exercise philosophies into my routines. Try to stay away from heavy exercises - lunges, jumps, heavy weights (anything over 5 pounds), kettle balls - as they add unwanted bulk.
