The Weekly Skinny: All the healthy news you need (8-27-10)

Would you give up sex to shed some pounds? What about your cell phone? FatFighterTV has results from a new survey plus a look at other diet and fitness headlines making news this week.

Would you give up sex to lose weight?
A new poll finds many Americans would. The survey from the Nutrisystem Diet Index shows 52-percent of American women would choose a summer without sex over gaining 10 pounds; one in four men would do the same. Results also show about three-fourths of Americans would give up television, cell phones, or computers for a flat belly during beach season. But when it comes to giving up their favorite foods, 46-percent of those surveyed said they would not diet, even when they knew they needed to lose weight.

Burger King's new 2500 calorie pizza burger
It doesn't quite live up to all the calories and fat in this 4-pound Michigan burger, but Burger King's new NY Pizza Burger is still loaded. It comes with four Whopper patties with pizza toppings like pepperoni, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese, all on a 9 ½-inch sesame seed bun. The totals: 2530 calories, 144 grams of fat, and 59 grams of saturated fat. It's served cut into six slices and meant to be shared. Each slice has 421 calories and 24 grams of fat. The NY Pizza Burger debuts in Times Square next month.

Three food trends I don't understand: enormous sizes, fried everything, and food eating contests.

Drink up! It could help you lose weight
You often hear that you should drink water before you eat to help you feel more full so you eat fewer calories. Now, researchers have proof that it can really work. They found drinking two 8-ounce glasses of H2O before each meal while also cutting back on portions may help dieters lose weight and keep it off.
