Victoria's Secret Model Adriana Lima Reveals Her Diet

Last weekend Victoria's Secret taped its annual fashion show, where they show off the latest and most fabulous lingerie styles . The brand has a world-renowned team of models, some of the most well-paid, not to mention beautiful, in the industry. Adriana Lima is one of the models who will walk the runway in this year's event, set to air November 29.

Lima recently shared how she prepared for one of the biggest fashion shows of the year. Just like the bras sold at Victoria's Secret, her regimen is not one-size-fits-all.

She participates in daily workouts with a personal trainer for her firm and fit physique. Those workouts happen twice a day in the final weeks before the fashion show. She has previously shared that she enjoys boxing, jumping rope and isometric exercises.

While her fitness regimen is commendable, her barely-there diet is as stark as the couture she wears on the runway. Lima eats only protein shakes (with powdered egg), vitamins, and a gallon of water each day in preparation for the fashion show. Two days prior to the show she cuts out the gallon of water, and 12 hours before she stops drinking any liquid at all, which she says is to dry out. "You can lose eight pounds just from that," she notes.

Adriana Lima's diet was shared prior to last year's event, too. Not much has changed in past year, and at that time she noted being closely monitored by her nutritionist.

Other Victoria's Secret Angels are in just as great of shape as Lima, but don't seem nearly as regimented. In an interview with Anderson Cooper, they talked about the back-stage meal that had been prepared by a chef. The models were encouraged to "eat whatever you want before you go on," and the meal included shrimp, rice, and salad.

One Victoria's Secret model noted that they need their strength and energy to work the fashion show, especially to carry the 30-pound wings that are mounted on their slender backs.
