Ward Off Winter Germs: DIY Hand Sanitizer

With the cold and flu season approaching, it's vital to take extra precautions in order to keep germs away. Whether you're in a public restroom, or on the train you can easily come in contact with all kinds of microscopic menaces. Stay away from nasty flu-spreading germs with this really easy DIY Hand Sanitizer!

What You Need
-1/3 cup Aloe Vera Gel
-2/3 Grain Alcohol
-5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
-5 drops of an essential oils you like (lemon, rose, etc)

What To Do
1. In a small bowl mix together the aloe vera gel and grain alcohol. Make sure you don't reduce the amount of alcohol you use because in order for it to be affective, a hand sanitizer must have a minimum of 60%.

2. Then add the tea tree essential oil. Though it smells strong, it has its own anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, to give you an extra boost of protection.

3. To soften the smell, add about 5 drops of your favorite essential oils
- we recommend lavender, rose or lemon to agree with the tea tree.

4. Thoroughly mix
all these ingredients in a small bowl using a spoon.

5. Then pour all the ingredients into an empty plastic bottle
(one small enough to stash in your purse) using a funnel. Now you're ready to get out there and battle those germs!
