Dude Named Vaginal Wipes Spokesperson. That's All.

So this happened. On Thursday Playtex, the grandmother of feminine products, named a new spokesperson for its "Fresh + Sexy" vaginal wipes. It's a dude named Andrew WK, a singer, motivational speaker, and "My Little Pony" super fan best known for his 2001 hit single "Party Hard" primarily featured on the "Girls Gone Wild: Music Volume 1" CD. The song debuted on his album "I Get Wet" which bore a cover shot of WK with animal blood dripping down his face.

Fresh + Sexy is designed for both men and women to use before and after sex to feel, duh, fresh and sexy. In a statement about the product, Andrew WK said: "Whether you just finished rocking a packed club or have an intimate encounter after a busy day, this product will make couples feel brand new. Fresh + Sexy Wipes were specially designed to help couples feel confidently clean, before and after they engage in sexual activity!"

A Playtex representative added: "This exciting new product required the help of someone who could embody the brand's playful yet bold campaign; someone who could party hard, but still be clean when it counted...Andrew W.K. is that someone and we are thrilled to have him on board with us for Fresh + Sexy Wipes."

The product will be launching at a party at next week's SXSW festival. Because, why not?

We can't help but speculate on the intention—do guys think we have that not-so-fresh feeling? Is Playtex, weary of ads featuring women strolling on beaches and through grassy fields, trying to re-brand the feminine hygiene industry with an in-your-face "rock star?" Or is it an attempt to get a leg up on Summer's Eve's sassy "Hail to the V" campaign? So many questions for which we sadly don't have the answers. Discuss.
