When dad's a crazy exerciser

Why Did the Paycheck Fairness Act Get Voted Down?

by Jessica Ashley, Shine staff

Our dads can convince us to do some pretty kooky stuff -- from participating in a fitness spoof to acting as his human dumbbells. These videos remind us that our fathers may not be fitness icons, but they sure do make the whole workout thing funnier.

These first two videos capture the kind of dad moments that make fathers stronger, children squeal, and mothers stress about Superman move-induced head injuries.

Papa #3 doesn't need anything but a groove thing to get his heart rate pumping. Awesome for fitness and dominating the dance floor at his daughter's sweet sixteen.

This dad gets sweaty by shaking it along to "Toxic" on "Just Dance 2". He's not only pretty into the Britney avatar, but he really gets down with a low-impact version of the running man that's worth seeing at about 1:19.

This dad's pretty serious about two things -- working out with his baby weight and being safe. I watched it and felt serious about two more things -- that he should maybe heave that baby around a few steps away from the edge of the balcony and that a little inevitable projectile vomit could make this video more funny (and real).

Our last guy gets kids moving while also incorporating a Sunday school lesson. Bible aerobics! Who knew?

One final video that deserves a click-through:
This dad got his kids all dressed up in goofy outfits and then egged them on for a good laugh rather than a good workout. The kids perform some pretty impressive front-porch fitness acrobatics while the whistle-wearing dad keeps mentioning "feeling the burn"...of that giant donut or grilled cheese or whatever's piled on his plate.
