Bondage-style lingerie for the holidays? Really?

This week's Victoria's Secret fashion show featured nearly every type of undies on the runway, from sporty to sexy to girly. But the Telegraph is reporting that bondage-style bras and panties are flying off the shelves faster than any other style this season, thanks to the risque stage outfits worn by Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Um, happy holidays?

At London department store Selfridges, lingerie sales are up 20 percent. Helen Attwood, the store's head lingerie buyer thinks the bondage look has become more high-end (think racy brands like Agent Provocateur) and is influencing mainstream designs. "This winter S&M has gone couture," says Attwood. "To keep up with demand for lingerie with serious edge, we're about to launch our most expensive erotica yet. Sales of the sexiest designs of lingerie are already up 50 percent and we predict that this Christmas won't be white. It'll be black silk with a leather trim."

While we think it is nice to own a variety of lingerie for different occasions, are these leather and lace items really practical or comfortable to wear around?

Do you have any super sexy or bondage-inspired lingerie, and if so, how often do you actually wear it?
