Portable Perfection: Serve Strawberry Shortcake on a Stick
When summer rolls around our favorite dessert is the classic strawberry shortcake! Nothing beats fresh, sweet berries with moist cake and whipping cream on a hot day. On weekends, we're always having a party with no sitting room which leads me to come up with party-friendly finger foods that guests can walk around and eat. With it's simple prep, easy-to-eat style, and the delicious combination of fresh fruit and cake, these strawberry shortcake sticks are the perfect summer party food!
Ingredients
1 pound strawberries
4 cups cubed angel food cake or shortcake
1/2 cup whipped cream
12 bamboo skewers

Directions
1. With a knife, slice the tops of the strawberries off.
2. Using the bamboo skewer, spear the strawberries and cake, alternating between the two.
3. Place the strawberry shortcake skewers on a plate and serve with a bowl of whipped cream.
