More mulberry please!
The number one color on the fashion runway this fall was a dark shade of purple called deep mulberry, but for those of us with olive complexions who want a more wearable version, I have a few. For a stained mulberry look with a glossy finish, try Mark's Gloss Gorgeous Stay On Lip Stain in Showy Flamboyant and Vibe Impression. My favorite mulberry-inspired lip color at the moment is Clarins Rouge Prodige Lipstick in Orchid Pink, which is a very wearable purple shade. Another great fall hue is Bite Beauty's Honey Lip Laquer in Gamay, which is a pretty rose shade that leans more to dusty light berry on olive skins. Made with natural ingredients, this high gloss finish will leave your lips moisturized for hours. For those of us who like to wear nude on our lips year round, check out Jouer's Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Wind, the perfect creamy pink nude that works for all skin types. For nude lipstick this fall, I've been loving Vincent Longo's Velvet Riche Lipstick in Grace, which adds the perfect amount of color to my lips. Red lipstick is always in season, but try it in a berry hue like Vincent Longo's Velvet Riche Lipstick in Ignition.

Smoky tones in multicolored shadows

Smoky shadows are in this fall, but don't think you need to use black eye shadow every time. Brown, smoky purples and blues are hot this season, as well as jewel tones. For an all-inclusive color palette, try LORAC's Pro Palette, which has rich browns and other great colors. For jewel tone eye shadows, I've been using BECCA's Line of Jewel Dusts. If you are a Latina with brown eyes, try amethyst and emerald sparkling shadows, which will emphasize and brighten up your eyes. Multi-toned shadows were also big on the runway this fall. To create wearable versions, try mixing jewel tones together placing gold in the inner corners and green or purple on the lids.

Fall nails
You want to transition from spring's bright hot pink and coral nails to a more smoky, subdued color palette this season. A staple for me is Zoya's Kelly, a dark gray that isn't as severe as black, and goes amazing with olive skin tones. Also, try Zoya's Natty, a deep smoky blue, or Zoya's Monica, a dark purple.

Vibrant eyeliners

Don't be afraid to use vibrantly colored eyeliners and strong graphic lines. For a good staple set of liners, try Tarte's SmolderEYES Collectors Set which has you covered on any color you'll need including champagne, gunmetal, rainforest black, gold and ash violet. I love how richly pigmented these liners are and how you can use them for smudgy, intense lines or even as eye shadow.

Create a Fall-look
Always begin by prepping your face. I like to use Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. Then, apply your foundation. I'm using Laura Mercier's Oil Free Supreme Foundation which leaves a flawless matte finish, and I'm applying it with Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to expertly buff in the foundation. To hide my under eye circles and add some luminosity to the eyes, I used By Terry Touche Veloutee Highlighting Concealer and Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Brush to blend it in. Then, to set the makeup in place, I used my favorite powder from Jouer, Hydrating Powder Foundation, with a Real Techniques Buffing Brush.

Tutorial: How to create fall's hottest smoky-plum eyes
Start by priming the eyes with Tarte's Clean Slate 360 Creaseless 12 Hr Smoothing Eye Primer. To avoid eye shadow fallout from getting on my face, I place Shadow Shields under my eyes. Choose a shimmery, deep plum or eggplant color like Jouer's Powder Eyeshadow in Bordeaux, and apply this color with a shader brush (I chose Real Techniques Accent Brush) to the eye lid. Blend a light brown color onto the crease area, and then apply a highlight color to the brown bone like Jouer's Powder Eyeshadow in Pink Champagne with Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush. As a special step, I chose to apply ELLIS FAAS Light in Bronze to the inner corners of the eyes to add an interesting metallic sheen.

To finish off the eyes, I used Stila's Smudgestick Waterproof Eye Liner in Tetra (plum) on the lower lash line, and smudged a dark purple shadow on top. Then, I applied By Terry Ligne Blackstar Liquid Eyeliner to the upper lash line and used Urban Decay's Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara.

Finishing the cheeks
You don't want to over-do on bronzer for the fall, so choose a lighter color like Cargo's Blu Ray Bronzer, and apply it lightly under the cheek bones with Real Techniques Contouring Brush. Apply a blush that suits your skin tone best. I recommend a peachy pink for olive skin tones. Then, highlight the face with Laura Mercier's Shimmer Bloc using Real Techniques Setting Brush.
