I love using gold eyeshadow and glitter during the holiday times for that little extra something that helps you stand out. For this look, I decided to keep the shimmer on the inner corners of the eyes, and add gray and black to the outer corners for a smoked-out effect. I think red lips are a classic, and they go really well with this look. During the holidays you can get away with doing bolder shades and strong colors, so break out your red lipstick and smoky shadows for your next holiday fiesta!

How to create a festive and glamorous
makeup look
In order to achieve this look, I used brushes from Stila's Holiday 2012 Brush Set and Urban Decay's Vice Palette for eyeshadows. For the rest, here's what you'll need:

A flawless base
Apply your favorite foundation. I used Jouer Matte Moisture Tint for a light coverage and a matte finish. I also used L'Oreal Magic Lumi Highlighter under the eyes to brighten up the area. Then, I set the makeup with Jouer Hydrating Powder Foundation on the T-Zone area. For brows, I used Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Dark Brunette to fill in the sparse areas of hair. Finally, I set the brows in place with Tweezerman Browmousse.

Watch how to get this smoky and sparkling holiday look:

Gold and smoky eyes
Begin by applying an eyeshadow primer. I chose Urban Decay Primer Potion in Greed for the gold base. Apply a nude color (Anonymous) to the brow bone area with a flat shader brush. Then, with the same brush, apply a gold shadow (Blitz) on the inner corners of the eyes, towards the first half of the lids. I decided to use a Shadow Shield in order to catch dark shadow dust from falling on my face. Apply a darker golden color (Jagged) on the outer half of the lids, and blend in the middle.

Take a small detailer brush and a gray shadow (Desperation), and apply it on the crease area of the eye in a v-shape. With a blending brush, apply a soft brown color (Laced) to the crease and blend it out into a nice fade. Then, go in with a little matte black eyeshadow (Black Market), and apply it to the outer part of the eye for a little more smokiness. Smudge the gray shadow under the lower lash line up to about halfway, and then do them same with the gold shadow in the inner corners.

Gold glitter

Next, add a black pencil to your water line. I used Stila Smudgestick Waterproof Eye Liner in Stingray. Then, line your upper lash line with a liquid liner like Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Liner in Black. Curl your lashes with Tweezerman Procurl Lash Curler, and apply your favorite waterproof mascara- mine is Urban Decay Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara. Then, for an added effect, take Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in El Dorado, and apply this gold glitter to the inner corners of the eyes.

Finished face and juicy red lips
I took Jouer Miner Powder Bronzer in Sunshine and applied it under my cheekbones. I followed by applying Stila Positively Pink Cheek Platte to my cheeks for a light pink flush. I also applied Jouer Highlighter in Tiare to the highest point's of my cheek bones. For lips, I chose a bright red lip color from Urban Decay's line of Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Colors in the shade F-Bomb and topped it off with Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lip Gloss in Red Light.
