VIDEO: Get Salma Hayek's Oscar Look

Watch our tutorial to get Salma's smokey and flawless makeup look from the 2013 Oscars.

The key to a subtle smokey look is blending and smudging. Salma Hayek perfected this smoldering look at the 85th annual Academy Awards. Of course, no one can try to look like Salma, but you can certainly copy her fabulous makeup! The Oscars this year was full of glamour and star power, and Salma looked amazing while presenting at the ceremony in a velvet, black dress and messy bun. This look is actually not too difficult to achieve, as long as you have some smokey, neutral shades and a good black eyeliner.

All the makeup used for this tutorial is from Inglot Cosmetics, where you can create your own custom palettes with their innovative Freedom System.

The eyes have it
Start off by applying an eye makeup primer (Inglot Eye Makeup Base) on the lids and under the eyes. Apply a nude highlight color (Inglot Eyeshadow 361) to the brow bone with a large shader brush (Inglot Eye Brush 28PO). Then choose a smokey, gray brown (Inglot Eyeshadow 363) and apply it with a fluffy shading brush (Inglot Eye Brush 19P) to the lid area. Next take a matte black shadow (Inglot Eyeshadow 63) and an angled liner brush (Inglot Eye Brush 17TL), and smudge the color right above the roots of the upper lash line. Take the fluffy shading brush, and blend the brown and black for a smokey effect. For some sparkle and definition, take a shimmery bronze color (Inglot Eyeshadow 43) and blend along the crease of the eyes.

Salma Hayek tutorial:

With a soft brown color (Inglot Eyeshadow 357) and a rounded crease brush (Inglot Eye Brush 6SS), blend out the bronze color and define the crease. Apply the black shadow under the lower lash line, and then add a shimmery nude color (Inglot Eyeshadow 395) to the inner corner of the eyes. Line the upper lash line and the lower waterline in a dark black; I used a matte gel liner (Inglot Matte Eyeliner Gel 77). Then add plenty of coats of a volumizing mascara for a false lash effect (Inglot Volume & Waterproof Mascara).

Warm blush and nude lips
Apply a warm apricot blush (Inglot Freedom System Face Blush 29) with a blush brush (Inglot Face Brush 3P) to the apples of the cheeks. For a pretty sheen to the face, add some subtle highlight powder (Inlgot Highlighting Powder 84) to the highest points of the cheek bones and anywhere you want some added light. Finish off by applying a light, nude lip color (Inglot Freedom System Lipstick 4) with a lip brush (Inglot Lip Brush 12 S).
