How 5 A-List Celebrity Couples Keep Their Romances Alive

If we've learned anything from Hollywood, it's that keeping the flame alive in a relationship is not easy under the bright lights of fame. However, there are a few exceptions to the rule that really shine through. Certain A-list couples have kept their romances alive and flourishing over the years.

Since August is Romance Awareness Month, we're here to call out which couples have a connection that will last and what keeps their flame glowing year after year. (Take note, Kim Kardashian.)

1. Faith Hill & Tim McGraw

In 1996, she was just a Mississippi Girl joining a cowboy hat-wearin' country star on the Spontaneous Combustion Tour. Attracted to one another right away, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill immediately hit it off. A few months later, they found out they were expecting their first child and decided to tie the knot. The two now have three gorgeous children and amazing chemistry - still, 16 years later.

So how do they keep the romance going strong? Well, they sing to each other - and it's hot. You've seen the "Let's Make Love" video, right? Well that's just one of their duets that shows that the pull between them isn't going anywhere. The two sometimes tour together, perhaps so other women don't get in the way - when a fan grabbed McGraw on-stage, Faith was right there to stop the show and tell her to back off! We love us some over-protective country mamas. No wonder that even with their busy schedules, the two claim they have never spent more than three days apart. And that is commitment.

2. Jay Z & Beyonce Knowles
It all started with a little song called "03 Bonnie & Clyde," in which Beyonce and Jay-Z collaborated in 2002. Since then, their love flame has never gone out. The two had a very private wedding in 2008, landed Forbes top-earning Hollywood couple in 2009, and in 2011, Beyonce revealed to the world at the VMAs she was pregnant with their first daughter, Blue Ivy, whom she gave birth to last January.

So, how have the uber-successful couple stayed so close and steamy through it all? They make sure to keep it real with each other. Besides making hit song after hit song, the two go out like normal couples to basketball games, the US Open (seen here), and their friends' concerts. Once Jay-Z told People magazine, "We don't play with our relationship." We love that these two are so crazy in love (pun completely intended).

3. David & Victoria Beckham

Apparently, football games (European football, that is) are the perfect place to meet your one-and-only. For Victoria Adams, a Manchester United game she attended in 1997 led her to her now-husband David Beckham. The former Spice Girl became Mrs. Beckham in Ireland in July 1999, and the two now have three sons and a daughter.

So, with their successful careers-him in sports and well, looking hot, and her in fashion and also looking hot-how do they keep the spark alive? Simple: they accept their lives and focus on what's important. "We're soul mates," Victoria told Hello! Magazine in 2010. "You go into a marriage knowing there are going to be ups and downs. We're in the public eye so we have more to deal with than most. We accepted that years ago. It's just about us and the family." Well put, Posh. Plus, just look at these two.

4. Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones

After meeting at Deauville Film Festival in 1998, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones began dating less than a year later. The two tied the knot in 2000, and now have two gorgeous children. In August 2010, they recieved bad news as Douglas was diagnosed with stage-4 throat cancer. After chemotherapy and radiation, he told the public the tumor was gone in January 2011.

His wife stayed by his side throughout the whole ordeal and according to Douglas, "had a good cry" from the happiness she felt when he was finally cancer-free. These two are a picture perfect example of a classy (and lasting) Hollywood couple.

5. Gavin Rossdale & Gwen Stefani

I guess being the opening band pays off. At least it did for Gwen Stefani, who met her now-husband when her band, No Doubt was on tour opening for Bush in 1995. She hit it off with lead singer Gavin Rossdale, and married him seven years later in London. The couple now have two awesome sons and have been together for 17 years!

Despite rumors of breakups and affairs, the couple has kept their romance alive. Just two weeks ago, they were seen smooching at Palm Beach! So, how do they do it? Well, they're still completely smitten with each other after all these years. Rossdale recently said in an interview: "She's so beautiful, it breaks my heart every day!" Awww! And Gwen recently admitted that she wears makeup every day to please her hunky hubby. There's no doubt these two can make it work.
