5 Rainy Day Dates to Do with Your Partner

It can be infuriating when inclement weather ruins your plans. With weathermen predicting one of the rainiest summer seasons yet, its very possible for your sunny dates to get rained out. Don't let the rain "rain" on your parade! Instead, go for one of these 5 inexpensive dates just for rainy days.
1. Build a Fort
Something about the rain just brings us back to our childhood; those days when our fun plans got rained out and we had to find something fun to do inside which of course calls for some creativity. Building a fort with chairs and blankets is not only creative and fun but can also be very intimate. In a fort anything goes: snuggle up to a book, make shadow animals or play flashlight tag, or let the pitter patter of the rain soothe you to sleep.
2. Movie Marathon
I think we can all agree that sometimes the rain excuses us from our busy lives. So a bum out session is an essential rainy date. Order some pizza, grab your favorite bottle of wine, put on your jammies and watch all three Lord Of The Rings movies (that's about 10 hours!) or catch up with the first season of Games of Thrones. Don't talk about work, or tomorrow, don't even shower! Just bum the hell out.
3. Sing in the Rain!
A lot of us naturally run from the rain and in doing so, forget how refreshing a May shower can be. So get your umbrella (or don't) and go for a walk in the park, along the shoreline or even take a trip to the Farmer's Market. Don't forget to jump in as many puddles as you can.
4. Have a Picnic
The rain doesn't necessarily rule out picnics. Pack a romantic meal and head to the nearest beach. Enjoy your food in the car, with some music while you watch the rain. You may even witness the sun peeping through the clouds and when the rain lets up, you're in the perfect place to catch some rays.
5. Bookstore/Café Date
Okay, so you went to the bookstore last time it rained. Go again and this time plan for some activities. Bring along a game of scrabble or your favorite board game; loser buys the second round of drinks. Play a secret game of hide and seek between the bookcases. For something more quiet, bring a pen and some post-its. If you're bookworms, annotate your favorite parts in your favorite books (with the post-its!) and stuff them back on the shelves.
Don't waste a rainy day pouting about ruined plans! The rain excuses you from the anxieties of adulthood. Enjoy being inhibition free with your partner. Don't forget your camera! Rainy dates are the best photo ops.
