Summer girlby Chiara Atik for HowAboutWe.com
I have this crackpot theory that women look better in Spring/Summer and men look better in Fall/Winter. It's the reason girls lust after Autumn Boyfriends while guys like girls who stop by in the summer, in the summer.

So, if you're a girl, this is definitely your season to shine (bloom?), at least in terms of attracting the opposite sex. Take advantage! Here are 5 reasons all eyes are going to be on you from now until next September.
1. Admit it. You're happier.
Even if you had the coziest, most picturesque winter ever (and you probably didn't, because this winter was blah), there's something about the sun shining on the first day of Spring that makes you want to hum at your computer, or take a long lunch break, or shop for a new pair of sandals online. Goodbye to Seasonal Affectation Disorder: you're in a good mood! And few things are as attractive on man, woman, or beast, as cheerfulness.

2. You're showing off a bit more skin.
And let's face it, men are simple creatures, easily swayed by the power of suggestion. (Men: You know it's true. Xoxo.) Remember that study last year that showed that men are turned on by shoulders because they equate shoulders with breasts? Well, then you can imagine their reactions to the tank tops and strapless dresses you'll be parading around in all Spring! (Hopefully no one will point out to men that they have shoulders, too.) (Men: was that offensive? Sorry.)

3. You're probably healthier.
The weather is finally nice, which means you might actually walk home from work, you might take a bike ride this weekend, you might opt to sit outside at a beer garden with friends this evening, instead of spending your night under the covers with Netflix. All this fresh air and activity means better circulation, rosy cheeks, more energy, less lethargy, etc, etc. Maybe it won't be immediately noticeable to you when you look in a mirror, but it will definitely be noticeable to anyone who meets you.

4. Your clothes are just…prettier.
Look, in my opinion, guys have the monopoly on flannels, scarves, hats, and jackets. There's probably some deep-ceded gender construct informing that belief, but still. If you take a guy and a girl of equal attractiveness, the guy will look better in winter clothing, and the girl will look better in summer clothing. It's something about the flounce of summer skirts, the bright colors of t-shirts, the neck lines on sun dresses, the cut of shorts. And as for sandals? 10/10 times, a woman will always look better in sandals than a man.

5. You're once again unencumbered.
One of the great gender injustices is the pure amount of crap women are expected to tout around from day to day, while men get away with merely whatever they can stuff in their pockets. And really, the sheer mass of stuff we have with us does take a toll on how we look: our posture, for one, but also the sheepish countenance that always goes hand in hand with someone constantly laden with bags and keys andwhatever. On top of all this, you want us to add a puffy marshmallow jacket, gloves, a scarf, and a hat that inevitably transforms our glossy tresses into a frizzy, flat mess? Let's just say, on an average winter day, we've got a lot working against us.
But then, suddenly, it's warm again, and we can leave behind the layers and boots and hats, and alight from our houses on date nights with nothing but our carefully selected outfit and a small purse! Bliss.
