5 Requests Guys Have on Valentine’s Day

I've put together many a Christmas wish list in my day. I'm an expert. It's pretty easy to tell people what you want, and it's also kind of fun.

If Valentine's Day had a wish list, I'd put together a list of characteristics I'd wish for in a girlfriend:

An Honest Woman
The number-one trait I look for in a significant other's personality is honesty - perhaps because my overactive imagination drives me crazy with crisis thinking. It's hard for me to trust women in relationships for a number of reasons (we'll have to go over those in another blog post).

Sincerity sweeps me off my feet every time. But it takes a while to learn that someone is sincere. In other words, this trust doesn't happen overnight because building trust is full of little recurring tests. One failure of a little test can topple the whole thing.

A Woman Who Lets Me Hang Out with My Friends
This one's a no-brainer, and I'm pretty sure most women know that us guys love our friend time. If we feel like we are getting our friend time hijacked, we usually leave the relationship.

It's so attractive when a woman encourages us to hang out with our friends, and there's no drama when we wish to do so. And, you may not know this, but we usually come back after a while, like a lost pup, when we've hung with the guys too long.

A Woman Who Makes Great Moments with Me
Most of my memories are built with great/memorable friends. I love reminiscing the amazing times I have with them. I don't have so many of those moments with girlfriends or ex-girlfriends, but I'm sure I could create them with the right woman.

A Woman Who Gets a Little Jealous, but Not Super Jealous, Or Not Jealous At All
Can I get any more particular with this? Jealousy is a tough thing to figure out in a relationship. I feel good when a girl is annoyed about another girl - slightly jealous. But if she gets really jealous, all the time, it's overwhelming and frightening. And then there's the girl who doesn't get jealous at all. That won't do either....I need some attention and I need to make it feel like I'm being fought for a little. Wow, I'm a princess.

A Woman Who Gets Me to Try New Things
I'm so stubborn and stuck in my ways. It would take a special girl to get me to open my mind. Maybe there's more out there than soup, chicken fingers, the Ravens, and Discovery ID channel (probably not, but I'll think positively).

It's tough, these days, to get that "new experience/learning" feeling. Sometimes it takes a great friend or the right significant other to unlock this door.

What are your thoughts on my list above, and what characteristics or types of guys would you put on your Valentine's wish list, and why?
