"As long as he isn't bleeding, it's probably safe to just keep going," says certified sex therapist Marty Klein, PhD, author of Sexual Intelligence. Ask him if he's OK, then pull him in for a passionate kiss to get both of your minds back in the game.

OK, we know this is a bummer but it doesn't have to halt the action. "A lot of women assume that a guy's brain will explode if he comes into contact with menstrual blood," says Dr. Klein. "But many guys don't care." If your flow starts mid-sex, suggest moving things to the shower so you can still have fun and don't have to worry about a mess.

Eh, things happen. You probably care about it way more than he does, so don't stress. "A simple 'oops' and a smile can go a long way," says sex therapist Erika Pluhar, PhD. If you're worried about it happening again, try changing positions. "Avoid positions like doggie style, which tend to facilitate air getting forced into the vagina," says Dr. Pluhar.

Pause to make sure he's alright. "If he is, keep going, " says Gloria Brame, PhD, author of The Truth About Sex. "If you lavish the spot you hurt with lots of tongue, it'll quickly take his mind off it."

According to our experts, you should just roll with it as seemlessly as possible. Sex isn't supposed to be perfect and you just need keep going, says Dr. Brame. Spontaneity is sexy, so if you both end up on the floor, find a comfortable spot there to try something else.

The last thing you want to do is blurt something out that sounds fake and forced. According to Dr. Pluhar, whispering sexy phrases like "I want you so badly right now" or "That feels amazing" are a great place to start.
