You've heard the saying You have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince - well, sometimes you also have to date 'em too. For fun, we asked our readers to dish on their worst-ever dates. From a guy who couldn't get over his ex to a wealthy cheapskate, these jaw-dropping tales will make you more grateful than ever for the love you have:

"In college, my best girlfriend and I were going on a double date with this guy and his roommate. When we arrived at their apartment, we walked in to see my date steaming his roommate's shirt. The worst part is that after he steamed it, he buttoned the shirt and rolled his sleeves for him. I took a hint." - Cayla

"I went on a date with this guy I met through a social/special interest group. He recently finished a series of ballroom dance lessons and he asked me if I wanted to come to his "recital." He was socially awkward and he couldn't carry on a conversation. He also kept looking at his feet as he danced and he kept counting off the steps. The whole night was a bust." - Tarpon Monoxide

"One time, I went on a date with a guy named Brian - or at least that's what I thought. Ten minutes into dinner, he reminded me that his name was Brandon and went on to talk about his ex-girlfriend in detail for the rest of the date. Trips they went on, memories they shared, etc. It was terrible." - Rachel

"I went out with my best friend on a blind double date. My best friend, her date and my blind date came to pick me up. I was happy to see that my date was tall, dark and very, very handsome. We hit it off and I had a lovely time and he seemed to be enjoying me also. He called the next day to set up another date. I agreed to go out with him again, but something came up and I had to cancel our date. I called him to cancel and a woman answered. I asked to speak to "John" and she asked me who I was. Turns out he was married." -Nurse Robinson

"I was on a date on Valentine's day and my phone vibrated. I answered and my date was irate and asked me to turn my phone off. When I told him no, he instantly became sick and went to the bathroom. He returned to the table after 30 minutes with Mardi Gras beads, put them around my neck and asked me if I could read Bible scriptures with him. On the way home he gave me a ring, told me it was his mom's and she was waiting to meet me. He even tried to kiss me with a runny nose." - La Verne

"I was on a dinner date with this guy and within two minutes of sitting down he tells me, 'So, you should know I come from a lot of money.' But here was the kicker: I paid for the damn date. The check came and I did "the reach" and he literally leans back and says to me, "Oh, you're going to pay? That's cool. I think it's because I come from so much money that I'm ok with a woman paying." My mouth literally dropped. I paid the check because I didn't want to have to talk to him anymore about anything and walked out. That night I received a text from him telling me that he was sorry if he was a little low-key, he was tired, but he really enjoyed our date." -Tamara

"I ran into a guy I had dated in high school and he asked me to grab a cup of coffee. Our coffee date was just "ok" to me but he asked me to dinner. He took me to the most upscale restaurant I've ever been to, but it was just awkward. We couldn't be more different. He kept bringing up politics and knocking my missionary trip to a third world country. He was a pompous douche that had just spent nearly 300 dollars on dinner plus whatever the heck money the limo cost. At least I had a nice steak!" -Kaycee
