AMC to Jon Hamm: No More Going Commando

By Lauren Le Vine. REDBOOK.

It sounds like Jon Hamm's talent may be getting too big for AMC.

As everyone waits with baited breath for the season six premiere of Mad Men (April 7!), some interesting news filtered out from the set. According to the New York Daily News, AMC had to ask Hamm to don (pun intended) underwear because "This season takes place in the 1960s, where the pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination." The source went on to reveal that "Jon's impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear." The AMC insider even revealed that the network had to do some Photoshopping in seasons one and two to cover up Hamm's distracting bulge.

Whether or not this rumor is true, the Internet already has a well-documented relationship with Jon Hamm's, um, allergy to underwear. A few years ago, someone managed to pull his or eyes eyes away from Hamm's handsome face for long enough to notice that the actor has a fondness for going commando. And once his generous package was pointed out, everyone wanted to sign for it.

As titillating as this rumor is, we have to chime in as the voice of reason here. The Atlantic recently reported that 17,616 men went to the ER for zipper-related penis injuries between 2002 and 2010. So Jon, if you're reading this, please take caution. No one wants that prodigious talent of yours to diminish in any way.
