If you don't talk about things as they come up, then they snowball and something small becomes a big deal. Hopefully, you don't have a lot of issues every day, but if there's something that really bothers you, you need to talk about it, says Dr. Jenn.

No name-calling.

No character assassination.

No using someone's vulnerabilities against them.

Fighting fairly creates safety in the relationship, Dr. Jenn says.
