Would You Ban Cellphone Use at Your Wedding?

By Marla Pachter for HowAboutWe

Betabeat is reporting a new, alarming wedding trend: couples at weddings are banningthe use of cellphones so their special day can be all about them.

"Many couples are using passive-aggressive signage to suggest their guests put the phones away. Others, like Diva Extraordinaire Sean Parker, take things a step further and ask their guests to physically separate themselves from their phones and leave them at the door, which is actually just a cruel and unusual way of trying to control other people."

Now, on the one hand, I get the appeal. As someone who still doesn't have a smartphone, I find it unbelievably annoying when you're sitting with someone, having a nice dinner, and instead of talking to you they're checking their Facebook. On the other hand, this is a wedding, not a prison. The attention will be on you whether you let people use their phones or not, I promise!

Plus you can get even MORE attention from instagram photos and twitter hashtags. #SuperFunWedding. What do you guys think, is it a good idea to ban cellphones at your wedding?
