Buzzfeed is known for propagating hilarious memes and delivering on-point listicles (list + article, for the uninitiated). But it didn't occur to us that community members (yep, you can actually create your own posts) could use the site to pop the question!

To our surprise and delight, community user JohnnyMarz posted a heart-warming story on Buzzfeed last night: "A BuzzFeed Proposal: 7 Years, 11 Months And 1 Day In The Making." The list is an endearing compilation of the milestones he and his high school sweetheart, Crystal Lozano, shared-peppered with all of the reasons he loves his longtime girlfriend (and it's already received 92,615 views and 791 responses!).

The proposal starts with a snapshot of the classroom where the couple met freshman year. Johnny writes, "The funny thing about fate is, you don't realize it's working in your favor until you look back and see how your life was forever changed by this one, seemingly insignificant, moment." (Awww). He also makes one of the sweetest declarations we've heard in awhile, "After nearly eight years, I sometimes look at you and lose the rest of the world." (Seriously, we might start crying.) But there are also plenty of laughs sprinkled throughout: Johnny posts their favorite Rod Stewart song, but promptly apologizes for using a video that features Stewart's face because he knows the singer creeps Crystal out. And the best part? He includes photos taken just after he asked for Crystal's parents' blessing-complete with a cheeky shot of her dad strangling him.

The end of the proposal is a plea for her to meet him where it all began, their freshman year math classroom.

If this isn't one of the most thoughtful proposals, we don't know what is! A note to those thinking about popping the question: You don't need to strive for extravagance-just find something personal that speaks to you as a couple. Coincidentally, this isn't the first Buzzfeed proposal out there. In February 2012 a man named Len took a more lighthearted approached, creating a hilarious meme asking his girlfriend Katie to marry him ("I can haz your hand in marriage?"). I guess we can forget flash mobs and start looking out for more internet postings!

Oh, by the way, she said yes! A few hours after posting the article, Johnny Marzolph tweeted "Thanks to everyone who followed the #BuzzfeedProposal! She did, indeed, say YES!"
