Former President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton

This presidential couple was rocked by scandal in the late 1990′s when the news broke that the President had an improper relationship with a 22-year-old intern, Monica Lewinsky. The news of the extramarital affair eventually led to his impeachment from office, but over a decade later, his marriage to his wife, now the Secretary of State, remains intact. In her memoirs, published in 2003, Hillary wrote that one of the most difficult decisions of her life was to stay with her husband and confessed that initially she wanted to "wring Bill's neck." Ultimately, time and his political assistance as she launched her Senatorial campaign helped mend the relationship between the couple, who have been married since 1975.

David Letterman and Regina Lasko

The late night comedian and his wife have also put the pieces of their marriage back together after infidelity. Together since 1986 and married in 2009, the couple recently faced a $2 million extortion plot stemming from Letterman's affairs with female members of his staff. Letterman declared his indiscretion was "stupid behavior" and noted that the aftermath of the scandal left him feeling scared and depressed. He issued a public apology to his wife and said of the relationship post-cheating, "Maybe it won't be the same, but maybe it will be different and maybe it can even be better in a different way." It seems this approach to reconciliation is working for the couple.

Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian

This reality couple has also been faced with allegations of unfaithfulness throughout the course of their five-year relationship. In 2011, rumors swirled that Disick and fellow reality star Kristin Cavallari were having an affair. Cavallari denied the rumors and speculated that they were initiated to spark interest before the season premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Throughout this challenging time, Kardashian no doubt drew strength from her close-knit family. With Kardashian pregnant with her second child with Disick and Cavallari expecting a child with Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, it appears any alleged affair is over, and all parties have moved on.

Ultimately, cheating should be avoided, and it's never a desired ingredient in any romance. But, unfortunately, it does happen and the examples from these high-profiled couples proved that with time, forgiveness and family support, it's sometimes possible to mend a relationship broken by unfaithfulness.
