Christina Aguilera is Pregnant! What Does This Mean for Her Engagement?

First comes love, then comes engagement, then comes the baby carriage! According to multiple reports, Christina Aguilera, who got engaged to Matthew Rutler a week ago, and her brand-new fiancé are not just planning a wedding, they're also expecting a baby!

We only just stopped gawking at her totally gorgeous multi-stone engagement ring, which Rutler clearly put tremendous thought into. "Matt spent over a year designing the ring with the ring designer to represent their three-year journey together as a couple," a source told People of Aguilera's boyfriend of three years. "He has been planning this for a while and was just waiting for the right time-the ring has been done for months. Every single placement of each stone has a reason and meaning." Aguilera is already mother to 6-year-old Max, her son from her first marriage to Jordan Bratman. She's gushed about her son in the past, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, saying, "He's the love of my life, and I adore him. He's such a character, and he's so happy and at the end of the day, that's what's most important." We always knew that The Voice judge wanted have another child, and we're so happy that her dream is coming true!
With that, we have to wonder how her pregnancy affects her engagement. Aguilera is just the latest in a group of engaged-then-pregnant celebs, including Olivia Wilde, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Ciara. All three of these expectant brides-to-be seem to be waiting to get married until after they give birth, and we're betting Aguilera will follow suit. Her personal history reads so much like that of Kate Hudson-married young, had a son, got divorced and then engaged, and then pregnant again-that we can totally see her enjoying a nice, long engagement like Hudson's.
Regardless, we're so happy for the pop icon and her fiancé!
